Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at
Kolkata
On arrival at Kolkata international airport, you will be met by our
company representatives and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight Stay will be at Kolkata.
Day 02: Kolkata - Bhubaneswar
After breakfast, in time transfer to airport to board a flight to
Bhubaneswar. Arrive at Bhubaneswar and check into the Hotel.
Bhubaneswar, the capital of the eastern Indian state of Orissa,
is an important and sacred temple city of India. One of the famous
ancient cities of India, Bhubaneswar represents a fine blend of art,
architecture and ancient culture.
After freshen up, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar.
Visit some of the most enchanting Temples and Caves of the
city.
Overnight stay will be at Bhubaneswar.
Day 03: Bhubaneswar - Puri
After breakfast, we drive to Puri, enroute visiting Dhauli Peace
Pagoda, Pipili Appliqué Village and Raghurajpur Artisan
Village among other attractions on the way. Arrive at Puri and check
into the Hotel.
Overnight stay will be at Puri.
Day 04: Puri -Konark -Puri
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Konark Sun Temple at Konark.
Later, return to Puri and enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the
city. Visit the famous Lord Jagannath Temple, Sankaracharya
Ashram, Narendra Tank, Bazaar among other attractions of Puri.
Overnight stay will be at Puri.
Day 05: Puri - Chilka
After breakfast, we proceed to Chilka by surface (140 km - 5 hrs)
enroute visiting Coastal Orissa Villages. There, you can meet and
interact with the local people and enjoy their culture and traditions.
You can also enjoy a unique and exciting Bullock Cart Ride.
Arrive at Chilka and check into the Hotel.
Overnight stay will be at Chilka Lake.
Day 06: Chilka - Baliguda
In the morning, enjoy an exciting boat ride on beautiful Chilka
Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia. Chilka is famous
for its amazing avian population including an exotic variety of
migratory birds. Visit the famous Nalabana Bird Sanctuary by
boat and get rewarded with an unforgettable experience.
Later, we drive to Baliguda (280km- 6 hrs) through the beautiful
countryside road full with enchanting mountains of Sal forest.
En-route, visit and explore typical Orissa villages. Baliguda is
regarded as one of the main entry points to the tribal highland of
Orissa.
Arrive at Baliguda and check into the hotel. Overnight stay will be at
Baliguda.
Day 07: Baliguda - Belghar - Rayagada
After breakfast, we proceed to Barakhamba and Belghar tribal regions
(230 km -5 hrs) by road. Visit and explore few tattooed face Desia
Kondh and Kuttiyam Kondh tribal villages. Thereafter, we
drive down to Rayagada enroute visiting the Kotagarh Market.
Arrive at Rayagada and check into the hotel. Overnight stay will be at
Rayagada.
Day 08: Rayagada - Jeypore After breakfast, we drive to Jeypore (220
km - 5 hrs), enroute visiting Chatikona to witness an
interesting and colorful weekly market of the Dongaria Kondh Tribes.
Visit and explore few villages of the primitive Dongaria Kondh Tribes,
once famous for the human sacrifice. Today, these hilly tribes come
down from Niayamgiri hill range with varieties of fruits and animals
and it's a unique opportunity to see them before they mix with other
community in the market. Enjoy free time in the market.
Overnight stay will be at Jeypore.
Day 09: Jeypore - Ankadelli - Jeypore
After early breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Ankadelli (70 km) to
witness the most primitive and interesting tribal market of the
Bonda Tribes. Bordering the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh,
the place is known for its enchanting mountain, forest and waterfall.
Walk about 2-3 km inside the forest to see the Bonda men and women
coming down from the interiors of the forest side. Bondas are the most
primitive tribe of India or otherwise known as the naked tribes of the
mountain. Bonda women with their silver and brass rings around necks
and a small piece of cloth wrapped down to cover half of the private
area present the best example of primitive culture. Also, Bonda men
with their bows and arrows and country made liquor, are fascinating to
watch.
In the afternoon, we drive to Lamtaput region to see the Gadabas-
another primitive tribal community. Here you can enjoy a colorful
performance of Demsa Tribal Dance.
Late afternoon, we drive back to Jeypore. Overnight stay will be at
Jeypore.
Day 10: Jeypore-Kunduli- Nandapur- Jeypore
After breakfast, we proceed to see the biggest tribal weekly market of
Sanaparoja and Mali Tribes at Kunduli (65 km). It is a
very colorful market. Later, we drive to Nandapur to visit villages of
Sanaparoja tribes. Visit and explore the Khilus, Saana Padar and Bada
Padar tribal villages.
Later, we drive back to Jeypore. Overnight stay will be at Jeypore.
Day 11: Jeypore- Gupteswar- Jeypore
After breakfast, we proceed to Gupteswar (70 km) to visit the tribal
villages of the famous Dhuruba Tribe. Visit and explore the
tribal villages of Ramanguda, Dogariguda, Silpader and Talur. Also
visit the Cave Temple in the mountains, which is dedicated to Lord
Shiva and is quite famous among the tribes. Thereafter, we drive to
Nuagaon to witness the beautiful tribal weekly market of Sana Paroja
Tribes.
Later, we drive back to Jeypore. Overnight stay will be at Jeypore.
Day 12: Jeypore - Jagdalpur
After breakfast, we drive to Jagdalpur (90 km) enroute visiting some
typical and interesting Chhattisgarh villages. Chhattisgarh is a
neighboring state of Orissa. Jagdalpur is the district headquarters of
the famous Bastar tribal region. Arrive at Jagdalpur and check
into the hotel and relax.
Overnight stay will be at Jagdalpur.
Day13: Jagdalpur - Kanger Valley National Park
After breakfast, we drive to the famous Kanger Valley National Park.
Kanger Valley is known for its unique wildlife and beautiful and
verdant surroundings, regarded as one of the finest virgin forests
tracts on earth. Capture the breathtaking scenic beauty in your
camera. We'll also explore one of the limestone caves of the region,
known for beautiful stalagmite and stalactite formations. This is
tribal country and meeting the tribal people in their homes would
surely be a fascinating experience for you. Visit some of the tribal
homes and interact with them to learn something about their culture.
Later, enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch at the famous Tiratgarh Fall.
The enchanting Tiratgarh Fall offers a spectacular view to its
visitors.
In the evening, we drive back to Jagdalpur. Overnight stay will be at
Jagdalpur.
Day14: Jagdalpur
After breakfast, we drive to Kondagaon (150 km - 4hr). Visit and
explore the Dokra Village, Museum and the beautiful Palace
of Bastar.
In the evening, we drive back to Jagdalpur. Overnight stay will be at
Jagdalpur.
Day15: Jagdalpur - Kanker - Raipur
Today after breakfast, we drive back to Raipur enroute visiting more
tribal villages and the fascinating Kanker Palace. Arrive at
Raipur and check into the Hotel.
Overnight stay will be at Raipur.
Day 16: Raipur - Kolkata
After breakfast, in time (10:45 hrs) transfer to airport to board a
flight to Kolkata. Arrive at Kolkata and check into the hotel and
relax. Enjoy dinner at Hotel.
Day 17: Kolkata - Tour Concludes
After dinner in time transfer to airport to board an early morning
flight (Day 17) for your onward destination or way back home with
sweet memories of Chhattisgarh Tour |
